Miss Scarlett

Mrs. Peacock's beautiful step-daughter, Miss Scarlett, combines her hatred of her step-mother with her attraction to men, by having an affair with Colonel Mustard. But she occasionally puts him aside to have some disastrous relationships with a few other male acquaintances.

Below is a comparison of the different Miss Scarletts and a rating of their hamminess, psychoticness, characterisation and looks (as compared with the boardgame cards). There is also a brief description of the actresses' careers.

UK Series 1 - Tracy - Louise Ward

Unlike the other two women in the first series, the actress to play Miss Scarlett is a mostly unknown face.

Tracy-Louise's IMDB credits are very short, with her only notable parts being in "Dance With A Stranger" (the story of Ruth Ellis, the last woman hanged in Britain) and the fab 80's female detective series "Cat's Eyes". Like many of the other Cluedo actors and actresses though, she has also had a role in an episode of Dr. Who.

As the first Scarlett, Ward started to build up the character and her relationships with Peacock, White and Mustard; and she probably had the best of the Scarlett-Plum relationships in all of the series (mainly due to her similar age and status to Tabori). She was very over-shadowed though by the popularity of Beacham and Whitfield.

UK Christmas Special - Toyah Willcox

The show producers must have realised that they needed strong characters by now, as the casting of vivacious Toyah Willcox showed.

Toyah was great in the part, with all of the men drooling over her; yet still being a complete b*tch to everyone - especially her step-mother.

Like others in the Christmas Special, she was made to look very similar to her card equivalent - especially her hair style.

Toyah is best known for being an 80's rock singer ("It's A Mystery" and more); but she also has a very strong acting career behind her. Major parts for her have been as Miranda in both "Prospero's Books" and "The Tempest", but she has narrated a couple of children's television series (e.g. "The Teletubbies") and has made many guest appearances in shows as herself.

UK Series 2 - Koo Stark

A touch of class is now breathed into Scarlett, as Koo Stark - former girlfriend of HRH Prince Andrew - took over the part.

Koo is one of the queens of cold looks, being able to put any man in his place in a simple glance. As always, she vies for Mike's affections (often acting childlike to tease him) much to the annoyance of her step-mother (Rula Lenska).

As well as her involvement with a Prince, Koo is known for freelance photography, being a possible wife of Lister in the "Red Dwarf" episode "Timeslides", an uncredited appearance in "The Rocky Horror Show" (as a bridesmaid) and in rare footage she can been seen as Luke's friend in the lost "Anchorhead Scene" from "Star Wars IV: A New Hope" (see picture to right).

UK Series 3 - Lysette Anthony

A recognisable face for British audiences here, Lysette Anthony is best know as Angie in the hit 80's comedy "Three Up, Two Down".

Her Scarlett is very similar to that of Koo Stark's - but toned down a little. She still has the upper class nature and the strong characterisation, but is slightly calmer, less childish and thus a little more natural. Though Stark's character is slightly more memorable by having these traits.

Lysette has tried her hand in Hollywood several times, with a moderate amount of success. Her list of credits is numerous, appearing in "Look Who's Talking Now" and the classic Sci-Fi film "Krull".

UK Series 4 - Jerry Hall

After many series of great actors and actresses - the producers made the unusual choice of Jerry Hall for the role of Scarlett.

Though she has recently appeared in the West End as Mrs Robinson in "The Graduate" - Jerry is better know for her modelling career and her marriage to Rolling Stone Mick Jagger, than her acting talent.

She actually didn't make TOO bad a Scarlett, with notable moments in The Hanged Man and Seven Deadly Sinners; but this Scarlett seemed more like a spoilt child than a grown up woman.
